How to run the first call
Two minutes to a scheduled visit. Here is the shape of it.
- Free to join, no contracts
- Customers pick you by name
- You set your lead limits
The structure
Five steps
- Open with their job. One sentence.
- Ask two diagnostic questions you need anyway. People relax when you sound like you have seen this before.
- Tell them what the visit looks like: how long, what you will check, whether there is a visit fee and what it covers.
- Give two windows. Confirm one. Confirm the address.
- End with what happens next: "I will text you when I am on the way."
Questions that work
Ask
- "When did you first notice it?"
- "Has anyone looked at it already?"
- "Is anything else in the house acting up?"
- "Who else needs to be there when I come?"
Pricing on the phone
If you cannot quote without seeing it, say so and say why in one sentence. Then say what you can commit to: the visit fee, the time, and that you will give the price before any work starts. That is a yes most customers can give.
Questions
Should I quote a range over the phone?
Only if you would stand behind both ends. A low number you later walk back costs more trust than "I will know once I see it."
