How to Get More Locks, Security and AV Leads: 10 Places to Find Customers
Where locks, security and av pros find leads, how each one charges, and where to start if your budget is zero.
infinibell wrote this guide, and infinibell is one of the options on it. We are new: we are signing up our first pros in Pierce County, Washington. Facts about other companies come from their own websites, linked at the bottom, as of November 2026. Check their current terms before you sign up.
Start with the free ones
6 of these cost nothing to be listed on: Apple Business Connect, Bing Places for Business, Facebook Pages, Google Business Profile, Nextdoor, Yelp for Business. Set them up first, with the same business name, address and phone on every one, so search engines can tell they are the same business.
After that, pick one place that charges only when you get work, answer every lead fast, and ask every happy customer for a review. Spreading a small budget across five paid sites usually means doing none of them well.
Apple Business Connect
Apple's free tool for a business to claim and edit its place card shown in Apple Maps, Siri, Wallet and Messages.
- How pros pay: free
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: Apple Maps search and place cards
- Businesses can add photos, a logo, promotional Showcases and action links such as booking.
- Since October 2024, service businesses with no storefront can sign up too, and businesses can add their name and logo to Mail and Tap to Pay; Business Caller ID was announced for the following year.
Bing Places for Business
Microsoft's free tool for creating and managing a business listing in Bing search results and Bing Maps.
- How pros pay: free
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: search and map results
- In October 2025 the portal moved from bingplaces.com to bing.com/forbusiness; existing users are redirected.
- A business can import its listing from Google Business Profile.
Facebook Pages
A business profile on Facebook for posting updates, messaging customers and collecting recommendations, with paid ads sold separately.
- How pros pay: free page; optional advertising; optional Meta One business subscription
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: feed, search and recommendations; customer messages or books from the Page
- Meta launched Meta One on Sept. 15, 2026, a paid subscription with business plans that add professional tools, AI and a verified badge; Meta says the core experience stays free.
Google Business Profile
A free business listing that shows a business's details, hours, photos and posts in Google Search and Google Maps.
- How pros pay: free
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: search and map results; customer calls, gets directions or visits the website from the profile
- Changes go public only after the business is verified.
- Insights show which search keywords led people to the profile and what they did next.
Nextdoor
A neighborhood social network where a local business can claim a free page, collect neighbor recommendations, post updates and buy local ads.
- How pros pay: free page; optional advertising
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: neighbor recommendations and posts; customer messages the business directly
- Free page includes unlimited free posts, neighbor recommendations and direct messages.
- Paid reach is through Nextdoor Ads Manager; the page publishes no ad prices.
Yelp for Business
A local business directory and review site where businesses can claim a free page and buy ads in sponsored search results.
- How pros pay: free listing; optional advertising on a set budget and a paid page upgrade package
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: search results with sponsored ads above and below; customer messages, calls or requests a quote
- Claiming a page is free and does not make a business an advertiser; a claimed page can revert to unclaimed if the owner does not log in for 90 days.
- Ads run on a budget the business sets; Yelp says it maximizes clicks, leads and projects within that budget, and self-serve ads have no term contract.
infinibell
A new services marketplace where the customer picks up to 3 pros by name, and only those pros get the request.
- How pros pay: pay only for leads you accept (free during the current pilot)
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: customer picks up to 3 pros by name
- No monthly fee and no contract. You set a price limit and can decline any lead for free.

Bark
A lead marketplace where customers post a request and professionals spend prepaid credits to contact the ones they want.
- How pros pay: pay per lead (prepaid credits spent to contact each lead)
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: customer posts a request; matching pros decide whether to pay to contact them
- Free to sign up and see leads; each contact costs credits set by service, job value and local supply and demand; credits expire three months after purchase.
- Bark returns all credits from the first credit pack if the pro wins no business.
Google Local Services Ads
Paid ads at the top of Google search that show a screened local business and charge per lead instead of per click.
- How pros pay: pay per lead
- Free profile: No
- How customers choose: customer picks from a short list of ads ranked by bid, responsiveness and reviews, then calls, messages or books
- Valid leads include answered calls, missed calls during business hours over 20 seconds, messages, voicemails and booking requests; Google reviews leads for 30 days and may credit poor or invalid ones.
- Lead price is set by competing bids from similar local businesses; a higher bid can raise position but responsiveness and reviews also count.
Thumbtack
A local services marketplace where customers browse pros and contact or hire one, and pros pay when a new customer contacts or hires them.
- How pros pay: pay per lead
- Free profile: Yes
- How customers choose: customer sees a list of pros and chooses whom to contact
- No signup, subscription, annual or membership fee; the pro pays when a new customer contacts or hires them, price depends on job size and location, and the pro sets a weekly spending limit.
- The customer pays the pro directly for the job, not Thumbtack.
How to choose for locks, security and av
- Free listings first: they cost time, not money, and they keep working.
- Ask how leads are shared: one customer sent to many pros is a race; a customer who picked you is a conversation.
- Read what you pay for: per lead, per job, per month or per click, and whether you can turn it off any day.
- Answer within minutes. On every platform, the first pro to reply wins most jobs.
